"Spinne am Abend". The intention behind this name is difficult to describe in a foreign language. It comes from an often erroneously applied idiom, which I took the right to enrich with another misinterpretation. Thus, the spider as an uncomfortable guest that does not let you sleep, is a wonderfully gothic symbol of creativity - or let's say “to spider” (spinnen - German for being crazy or to give something a whirl). This “spidering”, however, if I am honest, like spinning at the spinning wheel, brings little but sorrow and worry. But I need art to make life possible. And to make art possible, I need life apart from it. I “spider” in the evening. Not because I have to. Not because someone demands it of me. Not because I expect it of myself. It is simply a part of my being that always reveals itself to me somewhere in between, like the twilight in its richness of colors between day and night.
*Spinnen
[1] german for spiders
[2] german for being crazy or to give something a whirl
[3] german for spinning at the spinning wheel
lyrics
SPINNE AM ABEND
Die Spinne am Abend,
wo ist sie in der Nacht,
in meinen Träumen
hält sie mich wach.
Spinnen am Morgen,
den Faden verloren,
Kummer und Sorgen,
acht Augen und Ohren,
acht Tage die Woche
im Netz gefangen,
Königreiche sind hundert Jahre
schon wegen spinnen
in den Schlaf gefallen.
Spinne am Abend!
Spinne am Abend!
Nicht für Brot,
nicht für Geld,
nicht, damit es gefällt,
nicht für immer,
nicht für
die Bühnen der Welt,
nicht für einen Traum,
nicht für heute Nacht,
selbst in meinen Träumen
hält es mich wach...
Selbst in meinen Träumen hält es mich wach!
Selbst in meinen Träumen hält es mich wach!
Selbst in meinen Träumen hält es mich wach!
Selbst in meinen Träumen hält es mich wach!
...ich glaube, ich spinne.

From deathrock to electro punk. Stuck with casual poetry. The music project of the Berlin author Benjamin Schmidt is a gothic Frankenstein, who is constantly reassembled in various experiments. It's strange music for strange people. Enjoy the gloom.
