Dem Leben entschwunden
wie die Fledermaus dem Tage.
In stinkender Schwärze
ragt mein Dasein ins Unbekannte.
Ich erträume welke Bilder
aus modrigen Büchern,
drohe mich schleichend
des Anderen zu entsinnen,
ein Bruchstück Vertrautheit,
der die Fremde verdichtet.

Immer tiefer die Schatten
mit jedem Schritt,
ein Abdruck der Leere,
ein grotesker Rest Glück.
Nachtschwarz und verschlungen,
das Wort im Labyrinth,
das was längst verklungen
in jener Stille mitschwingt.

An der Oberfläche
ein heiterer Tanz,
nichts ahnend und lustvoll
berauscht ihrer Würde,
jedes Lächeln schlägt Falten,
wie ein Schatten der Freude.

Die Gesichter entarten
mit jedem Blick,
nur eine, mir ähnliche
Gestalt bleibt zurück,
entseelt wie die Toten,
die von keinem betrauert,
ahnt nicht, was in der Nähe
