about
"A strange fairy-tale song about a female clown who, in a magical show moment, shows an spectator how small-minded many people are. Henry Miller was a vague source of inspiration for that."
lyrics
Ein grauer Sommertag
führte sie durch den Park
und jeder sah ihr nach,
was an der krummen Nase lag.
Ich lüftete den Hut,
ich kannte sie sehr gut,
ich träume immer noch davon,
wie es mich einst an sie verschlug.
Ein buntes Zirkuszelt,
die Welt in einer Welt,
so artenreich und rätselhaft
hat sie sich in den Weg gestellt.
Akrobaten und Artisten, Zauberer, Äquilibristen,
Messerwerfer, Kaskadeure, Gaukler und Kontorsionisten,
Jongleure, menschliche Raketen,
die der Reihe nach auftreten,
und sie, die Hohepriesterin
exotischer Kuriositäten.
Die schönste aller Frau'n
spielte hier den Clown,
kalkweiß, halbnackt und wie benebelt,
ich traute meinen Augen kaum.
Und ihre krumme Nase war,
wie soll man sagen, ja, nun ja,
so wie ein seltenes Juwel,
nicht rund, nicht rot, unvorstellbar.
Einen Ballon bließ sie auf,
ließ ihn als Mond zum Himmel rauf,
den Zirkushimmel meine ich,
der unserem bis auf's Haar glich.
Sie stellte eine Leiter an
den Mond und fragte sodann,
da sie nicht mehr ganz nüchtern sei,
ob jemand sie begleiten kann.
Der Mond schien hell, sie wählte mich,
ich folgte ihr auch freiwillig,
doch dann, oh Schreck, welch übler Trick,
From deathrock to electro punk. Stuck with casual poetry. The music project of the Berlin author Benjamin Schmidt is a gothic Frankenstein, who is constantly reassembled in various experiments. It's strange music for strange people. Enjoy the gloom.
Nichts - yes, just that as a reflection of my current circumstances & thinkings of a life itself. Album is great! After a long, long time, brought me back to Selofan. I alwayas liked that cold-wave/dark-wave sound. vladimir milojkovity
I passed this up awhile back, I guess I was just looking for something else at the time. Having circled back into my wish list I gave it a third and final free spin, and lo and behold it fit the mood perfectly.
Kraut-flavored frenetic goth punk is what this is. Kinda like a dirty Blondie, if you will. Good stuff. Lute FP
